EOC Week 9: 40 under 40 in Vegas

Looking into the future to view where I see myself when I am 40 is hard to tell. One thing can say is that I know I will not just be sitting around and doing nothing. I most-likely will be doing photography. What type of photography I can't really say. These next few years of developing my company and see what type of photography works best for my company will determine what I will be doing and where I am at when I am 40. I am currently 25 years old and have 15 years until I am 40. I do see my self married with a wonderful family. I do hope to be a great role-model for my children by showing them it takes a lot of hard work and many times to fail before you can become successful. If they become interested in photography and decide to take over my business that would make me so happy. But will understand that if they wish to follow their own dreams that are way different then mine then i will support whatever they choose to do. As of now I see myself happy in whatever I end up doing whether if its in the field of photography of in a different field. I just want to make sure that I put God and my family first before my career, because when all the above fails, family will always e there for you through the think and thin. My hope though is that when I am 40 my photograph business is busy and full of customers. I hope my name will be out there for people to grasp and use me to photograph them for memories for them to keep in photo albums.

EOC WEEK 8: Is she Fair Game?

My opinion on whether the photos that were taken in the movie were alright, and would be okay to put out to the media is that I do believe that every one has the right to their own privacy. Yes she was young and a princess, and what many people perceive a princess as is perfect and proper. I do think that living the life of the rich and famous, and always being on the spotlight, that you are completely normal just like every other human being. Everyone deserves to live their life with a little fun. Yes there are paparazzi always waiting for the celebrities to make a mistake and be able to capture that on camera and make millions off that photo. Who wouldn't want to make millions off a photo? I know I would want to, but also I think to myself, if I was always under the spot light would I want my personal life of having fun and being me be out for the world to see? Probably NOT! I think that the photographer in the movie made the right judgment by just giving the photos to the princess and doing whatever she wished to those photos. This just showed that he respected her as a person and let her but like any other person and live life the way you're supposed, and just let her be free for a day from being a princess. I do believe that all celebrities should be treated that way. They should be able to live life with out always watching every move they make, and not have to worry whether the paparazzi will catch their mistake.

EOC WEEK 7: Challenges with finishing the Business Plan

Well usually I would say that I am having many challenges in finishing my Business Plan because i just can't come up with how I would want to organize it, but since I am in my final quarter in school, I have had plenty of time of thinking how i would build my whole business plan, and how I envisioned it to be like. My plan may change over time, but what i have thought about, and imagined my business to be like is what i really hope on how it turns out. At the moment I am still writing my papers and getting the writing process going. I guess that i would have to say my only main challenge is making sure i have it all done in time, and when i turn it in, it all looks organized and professional.

I am not really having any issues coming up on how I plan on marketing myself, and what not, just mainly trying to get enough words on to the two paged paper that is required for each category. Over all I think my whole business plan is coming along, and that i should hopefully have it done with in the next week, then all I'd really have to do is tweak it, and make it just perfect.

EOC WEEK 6: First Amendment & Ron Galella

The First Amendment enables us to have the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of association, and so on. This allows us to take pictures of what we wish and publish it where ever we want it to be seen by the public, or even if its just for ourselves The First Amendment gives us the freedom to do many things, that even though we are legal to do what it allows us too, we could so also be affect the life of others and ourselves. As we know today we all get our gossip from magazines, newspapers, and the internet. We thrive to read and see what mistakes celebrities do day by day, or see who had a baby, or who hooked up with who. Or maybe we just want to see a photo of Lindsey Lohan intoxicated coming out of another club, or see the dramatic results of Kim Kardasian's failed marriage. We all thrive on these photos and written entries in the tabloids. I do believe that the paparazzi have the right to take as many photos as they want and publish the photos they got out of chasing the celebrities because it is their job, and they do have to make money somehow. I think that if a celebrity doesn't want to be embarrassed or their lives invaded, then to be professional, and not pull stupid stunts such as coming out of a club drunk off their ass, if you do, you should be aware that you are famous and people are waiting for you to fail just to put it in the tabloids. If you're famous, you should know that yes you are just like any other human, and do have personal lives, but also should know that your lives are more watched and talked about then an ordinary person.

The way that Ron Galella work was he did anything to get a photo of a celebrity. Yes he did usually invade the privacy of ones life, but thats life with the rich and famous. People want to see you in magazines, and people want to hear about you. Yes i do think that Ron Galella may have gone over board but he does and did have the right to do and take the pictures he took. Many may not agree but I do believe you know what is coming when your life is always under the spot light. Being part of the "rich and famous" should already be your red light of becoming talked about everyday, along with being photographed.

Week 5 BOC: Who really won the Super Bowl?

From a marketing perspective, I believe the true winners are those who are promoting themselves through commercials, and also during the half time shows. I believe they are the true winners because every one who is watching the super also gets the viewers to watch their commercials. Once the super bowl is over it isn’t ever replayed on television. The commercials are, they are repeatedly replayed. And I believe how they choose which were the ones people liked most, are probably the ones people pull off of YouTube and repost on their Facebook pages, or ones that are just being constantly viewed over and over again. I also believe that the half time performers are winners as well. Were as some people may not give a care for watching the game, many more may just turn on their television for the half time show and those performers get the television count on how many people watched them, and are usually compared to the most popular shows on television that people watch. Sometimes they out due those most popular shows and to many that is a big success, and winner too, especially when their performance only lasted a few minutes.

Competitive Project

Competitive Analysis Project

Sjodin Photography

Sjodin Photography is a well-rounded photography business. Going through her website, I was not very “wowed. Yes I saw that she definitely able to photography many different objects, landscapes etc. Looking at the photography business, there’s nothing that really catches my eye. I think that to me this is a lower level. Just looking at the website I feel like it is not that well organized or even an eye catching business. I feel like their weakness would be promoting themselves. Since our world of today revolves so much around technology I believe that having a great website with pictures that catch eyes of many really help make you a high-level business company.

Desert Ice Studios

The moment that this website uploaded, I was shocked. The home page was so inspiring. The picture of their home page is of their studio. The picture just gives a great vision of the setting of your photo-shoot. Right on their homepage the business also has an “about the studio.” Not only are they drawing you to hire them but also they want you to get to know them. This business at first may look like just for glamour but when you do your research I think that this business is a very high level company.

James Davis Travel Photography

This website is pretty basic but I really like it. Sometimes I think the more basic, can be very catchy. He has simple colors on his website, but chose pictures that stand out. His work really does a great job of explaining what he does, and how well he does his job. He does a great job of breaking down his categories of his travel experiences and of images he caught during his travels. Over all I really think this business is amazing and worth taking a look at, and just seeing what travel photography is all about.

Marcos Rivera Photography

Going to this website was an experience. It definitely was a much different type of photography then what I usually show interest in. I do have to saw it was pretty amazing and good. This type of photography is more towards the staging a scene from like a real life situation. As I have heard and read that this is becoming more common. As looking through the pictures I did think they were pretty amazing. One down fall I do see is that since this type of photography is becoming very popular, that you really have to be unique of your own work. I do feel that if this is the new up coming photography that soon this business may be just a glamorous business, if they don’t begin making their own work unique compare to all the other types of stage setting photographs by other photographers.

EOC Week 4: Scary Legal Issues

Some scary legal issues that come to my mind when possibly starting a business, or when just having a business of your own is one possibly being sued for copy right issues. Or maybe someone trying to steal your work and pass it off as their own, so then you have to deal with legal issues with that whole situation. Another legal issue that also can occur is the structure of your business, whether you decided to own your own business or work in a partnership. You have to remember all the sharing rights between a partnership. You also have to think about your business license. Making everything in your business legal.

These are a few scary legal issues that you always have to keep in the back of your mind. Yes there are many more legal issues, but these are some of the top issues that I know come up in my mind when I think about starting my own business.
